Tesla Cybertruck Recall: Nearly 4,000 SUVs Ordered Off the Road Due to Accelerator Pedal Issue

The news of Tesla’s massive recall of nearly 4,000 Cybertrucks due to a sticky accelerator pedal has sent shockwaves through the electric car industry. The issue, caused by an unapproved change that introduced soap as a lubricant during assembly, has forced Tesla to slow down production of the futuristic SUVs.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) confirmed that the recall affects all Model Year 2024 Cybertruck vehicles manufactured between November 13, 2023, and April 4, 2024. This means that the majority of Cybertrucks currently on American roads are impacted by the recall.

According to the NHTSA, the sticky accelerator pedal can cause the pedal to become trapped in the interior trim above it when high force is applied. Unlike previous Tesla issues that could be fixed with a software update, this problem requires physical intervention.

In the midst of this recall, Tesla has also announced a 10% global workforce layoff, adding to the company’s challenges. Meanwhile, shareholders are set to vote on a $56 billion payout to CEO Elon Musk, raising questions about the company’s priorities amidst these setbacks.

As Tesla grapples with these issues, owners of the affected Cybertrucks are urged to contact the company for further instructions on how to address the sticky accelerator pedal problem. The recall serves as a reminder of the importance of thorough testing and quality control in the production of innovative vehicles like the Cybertruck.
