Baton Rouge rapper NBA Youngboy has received some good news after being granted bond in his federal weapons case. Last month, he was arrested in a prescription drug fraud scheme, but now it seems karma is on his side.

Appearing in court for the first time since his April arrest, Youngboy’s bond was set at $100K. In images circulating online, he can be seen smiling in front of the judge, unable to contain his joy.

He waived his preliminary hearing, allowing the case to move forward, with his arraignment scheduled for July 1. If released in Utah, his home state of Louisiana wants him transported there to await his prescription drug trial.

Initially facing 63 charges, including identity fraud, forgery, and possession of controlled substances, Youngboy’s list of charges has been reduced to 48. The charges now include identity fraud, forgery, and obtaining or attempting to obtain prescription drugs illegally.

The rapper was allegedly caught after a suspicious pharmacist tipped off authorities. A call from someone claiming to be a doctor named Gwendolyn Cox, who sounded like a much younger male from the Southern states, led to a search warrant on Youngboy’s Utah home by the Cache County Sheriff’s Office, FBI, Secret Service, and SWAT team, resulting in his arrest.

With his bond granted, NBA Youngboy can now focus on his legal proceedings as he awaits his trial dates.
