Drake Asks News Chopper to Give Him a Break: Requests Sleep After Recent Incidents at Toronto Mansion
Drake, the Canadian superstar, has made a special request to Toronto’s news channel CP24 — to give him a break and let him get some sleep. The rapper took to his Instagram story on Saturday, tagging the station in a message asking them to consider changing their helicopter flight times over his house, as they were keeping him awake.
The constant chopper flights over Drake’s Toronto mansion are presumably a response to a series of recent incidents at the property. In the early morning hours of May 7, a shooting near the estate left a security guard seriously injured. The following day, a man was stopped by security as he attempted to trespass onto the property, claiming he was “here to see Drake.”
Subsequent trespassing incidents occurred on May 9, with one culprit getting into an altercation with security before being taken to the hospital. It is unclear if these incidents are related to each other or to Drake’s ongoing feuds with Kendrick Lamar, The Weeknd, and A$AP Rocky.
Drake’s mansion was recently featured in his beef with Kendrick Lamar, with the Compton rapper using a satellite image of the property as the cover art for his diss track “Not Like Us.” The image was marked with red markers from a sex predator app, with Kendrick accusing Drake and his associates of being pedophiles. Drake denied these claims on his response track “The Heart Part 6.”
Despite the drama surrounding his property, Drake simply wants some peace and quiet to get some rest. He humorously suggested that helicopter flights after 3pm would work best for him. It remains to be seen if CP24 will accommodate his request.
