Introducing the BLK MBA Program: Empowering Recent HBCU Graduates
BLK Launches Innovative BLK MBA Program to Support Recent HBCU Graduates
BLK, the leading dating and lifestyle app for the Black community, is proud to announce the launch of their new initiative, the BLK MBA (Master of Black Affection) Program. This program is specifically designed to empower and support recent graduates from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) who are facing challenges in finding employment after graduation.
The BLK MBA Program aims to bridge the gap between academia and the workforce for Black graduates, who often face systemic and cultural obstacles in securing employment. With Black college graduates being twice as likely to be unemployed compared to other graduates, BLK recognizes the need for innovative solutions to address this issue.
Unlike traditional MBA programs, the BLK MBA Program will not involve coursework or thesis statements. Instead, BLK will select three outstanding graduates from HBCUs to participate in a summer of growth and discovery. These participants will immerse themselves in the BLK community, exploring networking opportunities and connections on the app. They will also provide feedback to enhance the user experience and gain a deeper understanding of how Black Gen-Z approaches dating, networking, and creating connections.
Jonathan Kirkland, Head of Marketing at BLK, expressed the brand’s commitment to creating opportunities for professional growth and personal development for recent HBCU graduates. The BLK MBA Program aims to not only address employment challenges but also enrich the platform with diverse perspectives and experiences.
The application process for the BLK MBA Program will begin in May, inviting recent HBCU graduates to apply by submitting their resumes and personal statements. A panel of judges will evaluate applications based on academic achievements, personal statements, and potential contributions to select three participants.
Selected participants will embark on a transformative journey throughout the summer, networking with other Black singles, recent graduates, young professionals, and Black business leaders. By actively engaging in the BLK community, participants will not only shape the future of dating experiences for Black Gen-Z individuals but also gain valuable insights into effective networking strategies.
