The Edward Waters women’s basketball team is gearing up for a new era with the announcement of their new head coach, Eric Jackson Jr. Formerly the head coach at Rust College, Jackson brings a wealth of experience and success to the program.

During his time at Rust, Jackson led the Lady Bearcats to three consecutive GCAC titles and their best season in school history, finishing with a remarkable 28-4 record. His coaching prowess was on full display as he guided the team to a dominant conference championship win over Fisk.

In his introductory press conference, Jackson emphasized his mission to instill a championship mindset in his players both on and off the court. He spoke passionately about teaching life lessons that go beyond basketball skills, focusing on building relationships, team chemistry, and academic success.

Jackson’s arrival marks the end of Charmaine Wilson’s 13-year tenure with the Tigers, as he takes the reins for the upcoming 2024-2025 season. Edward Waters will be looking to improve upon their 9-18 record from last season as they continue to compete in the SIAC.

Tiger Nation is buzzing with excitement as they welcome their new head coach, eager to see the impact Jackson will have on the team. With his track record of success and dedication to developing well-rounded student-athletes, the future looks bright for Edward Waters women’s basketball under Coach Jackson’s leadership.
