Cold Case Cracked: Four Suspects Arrested in Brutal Triple Murder in Jonesboro, Ga.

The chilling case of three people who were lured to a house in Jonesboro, Ga., tortured, and killed has finally been cracked after more than a decade of being unsolved. The victims, Cheryl Colquitt-Thompson, Quinones King, and Rodney Cottrell, were found dead inside an abandoned 2010 Dodge Charger on an exit ramp off Interstate I-85 in Georgia back in January 2013.

Last week, Georgia’s Clayton County Sheriff’s Office announced that they had issued arrest warrants for four suspects, charging them with three counts each of malice murder. The suspects were identified as Keante Harris, Kenneth Thompson, Kevin Harris, and Darrell Harris. The Sheriff’s Office did not disclose the evidence that led to the arrests or a motive for the killings.

One of the suspects, Keante Harris, who is a 45-year-old assistant principal at McAdory Middle School in McCalla, Ala., has garnered significant attention. Despite the charges against him, the Jefferson County Schools stated that the allegations were not related to his employment with the school district. Harris appeared emotional during his first court appearance in Alabama and is now awaiting extradition to Georgia.

The victims were found strangled and asphyxiated, indicating a brutal and heinous crime. The arrests of the suspects across three states by the Sheriff’s “elite fugitive unit” have brought some closure to the families of the victims after more than a decade of uncertainty. The community is now waiting for justice to be served as the suspects await extradition to Clayton County to face trial for their alleged involvement in the horrific murders.
