    Throughout the late 1980s and early 1990s, Heavy D & The Boyz released several successful albums, including Big Tyme and Peaceful Journey, which solidified Heavy D’s status as a pop sensation. He collaborated with artists like Janet Jackson and Michael Jackson, further expanding his influence in the music industry.

    In the mid-1990s, Heavy D made history as the first rapper to run a record label when he became president of Uptown Records. His success as an executive led to him becoming senior vice president of Universal Music, showcasing his talent and versatility in the industry.

    Tragically, Heavy D passed away in 2011, leaving behind a legacy that continues to inspire and influence artists in the Hip Hop community.
