Kanye West’s Assault Case Reportedly Headed Nowhere as All Parties Go Silent
Kanye West seems to have dodged assault charges as the complainants in the case have reportedly ceased cooperating with investigators. TMZ has revealed that Mark and Jonnie Houston, the two complainants, have been unresponsive to LAPD requests for information. West himself is also not cooperating with authorities.
The assault investigation is currently on hold and may be dismissed depending on the statute of limitations. Last month, West recounted the incident on The Download podcast, where he claimed to have confronted a man who allegedly made inappropriate contact with his wife on April 16.
Eyewitnesses at the hotel where the incident occurred have conflicting accounts of what transpired. One witness stated that West mistakenly punched the alleged perpetrator’s identical twin after a misunderstanding.
The Houston brothers, owners of several restaurants in Los Angeles, are at the center of the controversy. It remains unclear which brother was involved in the incident with West’s wife and who was struck by the rapper.
West’s team insists that the alleged assailant physically assaulted his wife, while no criminal charges have been filed by the complainants. The case remains in limbo as all parties involved have gone silent, leaving the outcome uncertain.
