“Bling Bishop Lamor Whitehead Sentenced to Nine Years in Prison for Financial Fraud”

The infamous “Bling Bishop” Lamor Whitehead from Brooklyn has been sentenced to nine years in prison after being convicted of conning millions of dollars, including from his own congregation. Whitehead, known for his flashy lifestyle and designer ensembles, was found guilty of fraud and extortion charges that involved scamming an elderly member of his church out of $90,000.

Prosecutors revealed that Whitehead used the money to fund his lavish lifestyle, which included expensive cars and luxury items. He was also accused of trying to defraud a businessman through extortion and lying to FBI agents during a raid on his Jersey mansion. Despite his claims of innocence, a jury found him guilty on all charges.

In addition to his prison sentence, Whitehead has been ordered to pay $85,000 in restitution and forfeit $95,000. U.S. Attorney Damian Williams described Whitehead as a “con man” who abused his position of trust and stole from those who looked up to him. The news of his scamming activities came to light following an armed robbery at a Sunday service in 2022.

In response to the sentencing, New York Mayor Eric Adams expressed his prayers for Whitehead and wished him the best. Whitehead’s attorneys have stated that they plan to appeal the conviction. Despite his fall from grace, the “Bling Bishop” remains a controversial figure in the community, with many still reeling from the shocking revelations of his criminal activities.
