Remy Ma Breaks Silence on Son’s Arrest: “We Stand by JaySon’s Innocence”

Remy Ma, the Grammy-nominated rapper, is facing a new challenge as her eldest son, Jayson Scott, has been arrested in connection with a murder case. Scott, along with another man, is accused of first-degree murder, criminal possession of a weapon, and reckless endangerment in the death of Darius Guillebeaux, a reputed NYC drug kingpin, in June 2021.

In a statement to TMZ on Juneteenth, Remy Ma expressed her belief in her son’s innocence and called for a thorough investigation by the NYPD to uncover the truth. She acknowledged the difficult time her family is going through and requested privacy as they navigate the legal process.

Scott is being represented by Remy Ma’s attorney, Dawn Florio, who previously defended the rapper in a 2019 assault case involving her Love & Hip-Hop: New York co-star, Brittney Taylor. Remy Ma had turned herself in to the police at that time and denied the allegations against her.

The news of Jayson Scott’s arrest comes as Remy Ma attended Michael Rubin’s Fanatics Super Bowl Party at Marquee Dayclub Las Vegas, where she was seen enjoying the festivities. Despite the legal troubles facing her family, Remy Ma remains resilient and focused on supporting her son through the challenging times ahead.
