Florida Mother Sentenced to Prison for Manslaughter Charges After 10-Year-Old Daughter Allegedly Shoots Woman
A tragic incident unfolded during Memorial Day weekend in 2022, resulting in the fatal shooting of a woman at a cookout in Florida. The shocking twist in the case is that the alleged shooter was not the woman who has been sentenced to prison on manslaughter charges, but her own 10-year-old daughter.
According to reports, 33-year-old Lakrisha Isaac got into a heated confrontation with 41-year-old Lashun Rodgers at the cookout over a social media post. As the argument escalated, Isaac allegedly passed her backpack, which contained a loaded gun, to her young daughter. A scuffle ensued between the two women, with witnesses claiming Isaac swung first. However, the situation took a tragic turn when the 10-year-old girl reportedly pulled the gun from the backpack and shot Rodgers twice, resulting in her death.
Witnesses claim that the young girl yelled, “She shouldn’t have hit my mama!” following the shooting. While Isaac was arrested and sentenced to five years in prison on manslaughter charges, her daughter, who was also arrested but not charged, remains in a juvenile detention center.
The case has raised questions about the responsibility and accountability of parents in such tragic incidents involving children. The girl’s fate remains uncertain as authorities have not made a charging decision due to her age. The community is left grappling with the heartbreaking consequences of a family dispute turned deadly.
