    Burna Boy Releases Uplifting New Song “Higher” Dedicated to Port Harcourt, Nigeria and Project PROTECT

    GRAMMY® Award-winning artist Burna Boy has released a new song titled “Higher,” dedicated to uplifting his hometown of Port Harcourt, Nigeria. The song is part of his ongoing efforts through Project PROTECT, an initiative aimed at providing financial, medical, and legal assistance to communities affected by systemic violence and poverty.

    The music video for “Higher” showcases Burna Boy’s emotional return to Port Harcourt, where he visits his childhood home and local villages. Directed by Burna Boy and Asurf, the video captures moments of him distributing essential supplies with volunteers from Project PROTECT and The R.E.A.C.H. The collaboration highlights their joint educational and healthcare initiatives, including contributions to the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital.

    The R.E.A.C.H. and Project PROTECT have made significant strides in improving the quality of life in over 21 communities, impacting more than 11,000 lives. The video aims to inspire higher thinking and selfless acts within the community, showcasing Burna Boy’s philanthropic efforts.

    In addition to the release of “Higher,” Burna Boy will continue his ‘I Told Them…Tour’ with upcoming performances, including a return to London Stadium on June 29 and a headline slot on the Pyramid Stage at the UK’s Glastonbury Festival on June 30. This latest release and ongoing tour highlight Burna Boy’s commitment to using his platform for positive change and uplifting his community.
