Miami Beach City Commission Revokes Diddy’s “Sean Diddy Combs Day” Amid Abuse Allegations

The City of Miami Beach has officially rescinded Diddy’s “Sean Diddy Combs Day” proclamation in light of the recent allegations of abuse against the music mogul. The proclamation, which declared October 13, 2016 as his day, was revoked by the Miami Beach Commission, citing that it no longer aligns with the city’s values of safety, community well-being, and respect.

This decision comes on the heels of a similar move in Diddy’s hometown of New York, where Mayor Eric Adams rescinded the key to the city that was presented to Diddy last September. The Mayor expressed deep concern over a video that surfaced showing Diddy allegedly attacking Cassie, stating that the mogul no longer fits the criteria of an outstanding citizen deserving of such an honor.

Diddy reportedly received the letter from Mayor Adams on June 4 and returned the key on June 10, marking the first time a key to the Big Apple has been rescinded. Rumors of the withdrawal began in May when the Mayor hinted at the possibility during an interview with PIX11.

The decision to rescind these honors underscores the gravity of the allegations against Diddy and sends a strong message that abuse will not be tolerated, even from high-profile individuals. The City of Miami Beach and New York City are taking a stand in support of survivors of domestic abuse, setting a precedent for accountability and justice.
