    Cash Money Founders Birdman and Slim Williams Honored with YouTube’s Leaders and Legends Award

    Cash Money Records founders, Bryan “Birdman” Williams and Ronald “Slim” Williams, were honored with YouTube’s Leaders and Legends Award in Los Angeles on Thursday night. The iconic record label, established in 1991, has been a powerhouse in the music industry, signing major artists like Lil Wayne, Drake, and Nicki Minaj.

    YouTube’s global head of music, Lyor Cohen, praised the Williams brothers for their entrepreneurship and leadership in Black music and culture. He highlighted their ability to defy the odds and elevate rap and hip-hop icons to superstardom. Cash Money Records has achieved incredible success with over 300 Hot 100 hits, 41 top 10 singles, and seven No. 1 singles.

    In response to the award, Birdman expressed his gratitude to YouTube for recognizing their accomplishments and the artists who have been a part of the label’s legacy. The Williams brothers have made a lasting impact on the music industry, producing 80 Billboard 200 albums, including 15 that reached the top spot.

    This accolade from YouTube acknowledges Cash Money Records’ significant contributions to the music industry and their enduring influence on popular culture.
