New Details Emerge in Alleged Murder of Black Woman in Westchester County
The case of the alleged murder of 27-year-old Concetta Morton in Westchester County has taken a dark turn with the discovery of new details that paint a horrifying picture of torture and cruelty. The suspect, 41-year-old Kenya Tilford, is facing an 18-count indictment that includes charges of murder, strangulation, and concealment of a human corpse.
According to authorities, Tilford allegedly tortured Morton for three months leading up to her death, with the official cause of death being ruled asphyxiation. This case marks the first time in the county’s history that charges of torture murder have been issued.
Friends of Morton, like Gyllian Dunkley, have expressed shock and disbelief at the heinous nature of the crime. Dunkley described Tilford as having a “black soul” and called for her to spend the rest of her life behind bars.
Westchester County District Attorney Miriam E. Rocah has vowed to seek justice for all the victims involved in the case, which also includes allegations of intimidation, threats, sexual assault, and torture against two prior intimate partners of Tilford.
The community in New Rochelle is reeling from the gruesome details that have emerged in this case, with many calling for swift and severe punishment for the accused. As the investigation continues, residents are left shaken by the brutality of the crime and hopeful that justice will be served for Morton and the other victims involved.
