Mustard Makes Rapping Debut on Heartfelt New Song About Beef, Grief, and Family

Mustard, the renowned Cali beatmaker, is gearing up for the release of his highly anticipated album, Faith of a Mustard Seed, later this month. In a surprising move, Mustard has stepped out from behind the boards and onto the mic for the first time with the release of his latest track, “Pray For Me.”

In this heartfelt song, Mustard opens up about his personal life, touching on topics such as family, friends, and loss. The track showcases a vulnerable side of the producer that fans have never seen before.

“I always used to say I would never rap on a song,” Mustard shared with XXL. “But I felt like this was the perfect time to explain to everybody where I’ve been for the last five years.”

The title of the album, Faith of a Mustard Seed, was inspired by the late Nipsey Hussle. Nipsey suggested the title to Mustard while working on a project together, and the producer decided to honor his friend’s memory by using it for his upcoming album.

Faith of a Mustard Seed is set to be released on July 26 through a new partnership with BMG. Mustard expressed his excitement about the collaboration, stating, “Together, we’ll continue to push the boundaries of creativity and deliver groundbreaking music that resonates with audiences worldwide.”

With the release of “Pray For Me” and the upcoming album, fans can expect to see a new side of Mustard and experience his raw and honest storytelling like never before.
