Kenyan Police Arrest Suspect in Murder Spree of 42 Women
After a two-year investigation, Kenyan law enforcement has finally apprehended the suspect behind a chilling murder spree that claimed the lives of 42 women. The suspect, identified as 33-year-old Collins Jumaisi Khalusha, was dubbed a “psychopathic serial killer” by authorities.
The investigation began after the discovery of a series of mutilated remains of women aged 18 to 30 near a dump in Kware. The victims were found stuffed in sacks and discarded, leading police to believe they were dealing with a cult leader or serial killer.
One of the victims, Josephine Owino, had gone missing on June 26, and her remains were among those recovered by officials. Detectives were able to trace a money transaction from Owino to Khalusha’s phone, leading them to the suspect who was apprehended at a club watching a soccer match.
During questioning, Khalusha confessed to luring in the victims, killing them, and disposing of their bodies. Shockingly, he admitted to making his wife his first victim. Police found incriminating evidence in Khalusha’s one-room rented home, including multiple cell phones, SIM cards, ID cards, rubber gloves, and a machete.
The arrest of Khalusha has sent shockwaves across Kenya, with women fearing for their safety. Lawmaker Leah Sankaire Sopiato emphasized the importance of protecting women’s lives and ensuring justice for the victims of these heinous crimes.
As the investigation continues, the full extent of Khalusha’s charges remains unclear. However, the arrest of the suspected serial killer brings a sense of closure to the families of the victims and a glimmer of hope for justice.
