Cash Cobain Draws Inspiration from André 3000 and Drake for New Song Snippets

Cash Cobain, the rising New York rapper known for his unique “Slizzy” sound, is taking inspiration from rap legends André 3000 and Drake for his upcoming music. In a series of new song snippets shared on Instagram, Cash gave fans a taste of what’s to come.

One of the tracks features a sample of André 3000’s “I Swear, I Really Wanted to Make a ‘Rap’ Album but This Is Literally the Way the Wind Blew Me This Time,” from his flute album New Blue Sun. Cash puts his own spin on the instrumental, adding percussion and bass while delivering sexually-charged lyrics and rapid-fire flows.

In another snippet, Cash reimagines Drake’s “Started From the Bottom,” giving the hit song a fresh sonic makeover. He even references the track’s title in his verse, shouting out fellow New York rapper Chow Lee who is also featured on the song.

Cash Cobain isn’t the only rapper to tackle André 3000’s New Blue Sun. Last year, Lupe Fiasco delighted fans by rapping over the flute beats from the OutKast legend’s solo project. The Chicago-bred lyricist effortlessly spit bars over the instrumental, showcasing his lyrical prowess.

Additionally, Dr. Dre collaborator Dem Jointz put his own spin on André 3000’s instrumentals, injecting funk-infused percussion and trap elements into the tracks. Cash Cobain’s upcoming music promises to be a unique blend of influences from rap icons, setting the stage for his continued rise in the hip-hop scene.
