Family of Legend Jack Organizes Fundraiser for Funeral Expenses

The tragic death of 4-year-old Legend Jack behind the Louisiana Welcome Center in Vinton has left the community in shock. The family of the young boy has come together to organize a fundraiser to cover the funeral expenses. Legend’s paternal grandmother, Dion Polk, described him as a playful and intelligent child who loved Sonic, Ninja Turtles, and Happy Meals.

A GoFundMe page has been set up with a goal of raising $20,000 to support the family during this difficult time. The community is encouraged to donate to help ease the financial burden on the grieving family.

The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office has been actively involved in the investigation surrounding Legend’s death. The body of the child was found in the water at the welcome center, and detectives were able to identify him as Legend Jack. The search for his 1-year-old brother led to a miraculous discovery by a Texas truck driver, Reginald Walton, who spotted the baby crawling near I-10 in Calcasieu Parish.

Walton’s quick thinking and action in calling 911 led to the safe rescue of the baby, who had been on the side of the interstate for two days. The child was found in relatively good condition and has been treated for minor injuries. Sheriff Stitch Guillory praised the weather conditions for aiding in the survival of the baby and expressed gratitude for the outcome.

The investigation into the tragic incident is ongoing, and authorities are dedicated to ensuring justice for the children involved. The community has rallied together to support the family during this heartbreaking time, and efforts are being made to provide updates and care for the surviving child.
