New York Giants Legend Lawrence Taylor Arrested in Florida for Failing to Report Residence Change as Registered Sex Offender
New York Giants legend Lawrence Taylor found himself in legal trouble once again, as he was arrested in Florida on Wednesday for failing to report his residence change as a registered sex offender. The 65-year-old turned himself in to the Broward Sheriff’s Office in Fort Lauderdale and was later released on bail.
This is not the first time Taylor has faced such charges, as he was arrested in Florida in December 2021 for the same offense. His attorney, Mark Eiglarsh, claimed that Taylor’s actions were a result of a “misunderstanding” and stated that his client will plead not guilty to the charges.
Taylor, who pleaded guilty to sexual misconduct and patronizing an underage prostitute in New York over a decade ago, has had previous encounters with the law, including charges of leaving the scene of an accident in 2009 and driving under the influence of alcohol in 2017.
Despite his legal troubles, Taylor had a successful football career as a linebacker for the New York Giants, earning induction into the Hall of Fame in 1999. However, his off-field issues have continued to haunt him, leading to his current legal woes.
As the case unfolds, Taylor’s attorney remains confident that once prosecutors review the evidence, his client will be cleared of any wrongdoing. For now, the former NFL star faces another legal battle as he navigates the consequences of his actions.
