Vice President Kamala Harris Raises $310 Million in July, Outpacing Trump’s Fundraising
Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign has shattered fundraising records, announcing a staggering $310 million raised in the month of July. This massive sum far outpaced the $138.7 million raised by former President Donald Trump’s campaign and affiliated committees during the same period.
Harris’ campaign also reported having $377 million in cash on hand, the most for any presidential candidate at this point in the election cycle. Campaign manager Julie Chavez Rodriguez attributed the outpouring of support to a mobilized and growing coalition ready to defeat Trump in November.
The fundraising success comes as Harris is set to announce her running mate early next week and as the Democratic National Convention approaches. The campaign is energized by the fact that two-thirds of July’s donations came from first-time contributors in the 2024 election cycle, with over 3 million donors making more than 4.2 million contributions.
Harris, who is poised to become the first woman of color nominated for president by a major political party, has been actively engaging supporters through virtual fundraisers and events. The campaign has also recruited 170,000 new volunteers and held 2,300 events across battleground states.
With a strong financial backing and a growing base of supporters, Harris is looking to reset the race against Trump by sharing her personal and professional story and sharply criticizing the Republican nominee. As the Democratic convention approaches, all eyes will be on Harris as she continues to build momentum heading into the November election.
