Simone Biles Wins Seventh Olympic Gold Medal in Women’s Vault Final at Paris Games

Simone Biles continues to make history at the Paris Games, adding another gold medal to her impressive collection in the women’s vault final. The 27-year-old gymnast wowed the crowd at Bercy Arena with her signature Yurchenko double pike and Cheng vaults, earning an average score of 15.300.

This victory marks Biles’ seventh Olympic gold medal and her second gold on the vault, following her triumph in Rio de Janeiro eight years ago. With this win, she joins the ranks of Vera Casalavska of Czechoslovakia as a two-time gold medalist on the vault.

Despite a small deduction on her first vault, Biles’ score of 15.700 put her in a commanding position going into her second vault. She nearly stuck her Cheng, further solidifying her lead and leaving the rest of the field vying for second place.

Rebeca Andrade of Brazil claimed the silver medal with a strong performance, while American Jade Carey took home the bronze. Andrade, who won the vault title in Tokyo, showcased her skills once again with an average score of 14.966.

Biles, who now has 10 Olympic medals and 40 medals in major international competitions, has two more chances to add to her impressive medal haul in Paris. She will compete in the balance beam and floor exercise finals on Monday, giving fans more opportunities to witness her incredible talent and dominance in the sport of gymnastics.
