Former President Donald Trump’s False Helicopter Emergency Landing Story with Willie Brown
Former President Donald Trump made headlines during his first news conference at his Mar-a-Lago resort when he shared a story about an alleged helicopter emergency landing with former San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown. However, Brown quickly refuted the claim, stating that he had never been in a helicopter with Trump in his life.
The incident began when a reporter asked Trump about Vice President Kamala Harris’ relationship with Brown and if it had helped her career. Trump responded by recounting the supposed helicopter incident, claiming that he and Brown had a harrowing experience during a flight together.
Despite Trump’s insistence on the validity of the story, both Willie Brown and former California Gov. Jerry Brown denied ever being in a helicopter emergency landing with the former president. In fact, a spokesperson for Jerry Brown clarified that there was no emergency landing or discussion of Kamala Harris during a wildfire tour in 2018.
California Gov. Gavin Newsom, who was also present during the helicopter tour, called out Trump for fabricating the story and exaggerating the situation. This latest incident adds to a string of controversial statements made by Trump, including his recent comparison of crowd sizes to that of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
As the former president continues to make headlines with his questionable claims and stories, the public remains divided on his credibility and ability to serve as president, especially as he faces mounting legal challenges.
