Florida A&M Rattlers Voted into FCS Coaches’ Preseason Top 25 for 2024 Season

Florida A&M University’s football team has once again made headlines as they were voted into the FCS Coaches’ Poll preseason top 25 for the 2024 season. The Rattlers, who finished the 2023 season with an impressive 12-1 record, earned 71 votes to secure the No. 25 spot, with a first-place vote to boot.

Under the leadership of first-year head coach James Colzie, who took over from Willie Simmons, the Rattlers are gearing up to defend their SWAC Eastern Division, conference, and Celebration Bowl championships. The team had previously been ranked No. 11 in the STATS FCS poll and No. 5 in the FCS Coaches’ Poll at the end of last season.

Despite being picked third in the SWAC East in the preseason polls, behind Jackson State and Alabama State, Florida A&M is ready to prove their worth on the field. Their season kicks off on Saturday, Aug. 24, with a game against Norfolk State in the annual MEAC/SWAC Challenge at Center Parc Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia.

The Rattlers’ inclusion in the top 25 is a testament to their hard work and dedication, and fans are eagerly anticipating another successful season from the reigning HBCU football national champions. With a talented roster and a new coach at the helm, Florida A&M is poised to make waves in the upcoming season.
