    Brandy, the music legend, is taking on a new challenge in her latest role in the psychological horror film “The Front Room.” In the movie, Brandy plays Belinda, a professor and wife expecting her second child after a previous stillbirth. When Belinda’s mother-in-law, Solange, played by Kathryn Hunter, moves in with the couple, strange occurrences begin happening at home, leading to unexpected decisions.

    Despite having appeared in scary movies before, Brandy admits that “The Front Room” scared her and that was one of the reasons she was drawn to the role. The singer-actress wanted to push herself and see if she could expand her range as an actress. Working alongside talented co-stars like Andrew Burnap and Kathryn Hunter, Brandy found a safe and free environment to explore her character.

    Throughout the film, Brandy delivers a powerful performance, portraying a wide range of emotions with authenticity. Playing a pregnant character for most of the movie brought back memories for Brandy, who fondly remembers her own pregnancy experience with her daughter, Sy’rai Iman Smith.
