In a new interview with Vulture, the Canadian producer revealed how Drake’s team once approached him at a Coachella after-party in L.A. to produce beats for the album.

Despite KAYTRANADA expressing that it would have been an honor to work with Drake, the collaboration never materialized. The producer recalled how his casual response of “Sure, hit me up” may have lacked the enthusiastic reaction that Drizzy’s camp was looking for. KAYTRANADA explained, “Was I supposed to be like, ‘Oh my God, for real? Drake?’ I’m not like that.”
