Flavor Flav Sets Sights on Participating in 2028 L.A. Olympic Games
Flavor Flav, the iconic rapper and member of Public Enemy, is setting his sights on the 2028 L.A. Olympic Games. After sponsoring Team USA’s women’s water polo team in Paris, the musician hopes to join athletes on the Olympic stage as a torchbearer. During an appearance on the “Potlickin’” podcast hosted by Marshawn Lynch, agent Doug Hendrickson, and California Gov. Gavin Newsom, Flavor Flav revealed that he has already put in his bid for the role.
Drawing inspiration from fellow rapper Snoop Dogg, who carried the torch in Paris this year, Flavor Flav expressed his excitement at the prospect of participating in the upcoming Olympics. Snoop Dogg, who also served as NBC’s Olympics correspondent, received praise for his charismatic presence and support of athletes during the Paris games.
Flavor Flav, known for his advocacy for women in sports, has made headlines for his financial support of athletes. He generously offered $1,000 to each member of the U.S. water polo team and even treated them to a cruise. Additionally, he teamed up with Alexis Ohanian to help Team USA discus thrower Veronica Fraley with her rent.
For Flavor Flav, witnessing these athletes chase their dreams in Paris was a “dream come true.” He expressed his excitement at being able to experience the Olympics firsthand and support the hardworking athletes who represent the United States on the world stage. As he continues to pursue his own Olympic dreams, Flavor Flav remains dedicated to uplifting and empowering athletes in their pursuit of excellence.
