Malik Obama Pledges Allegiance to Donald Trump, Sparks Controversy
Malik Obama, the half-brother of former President Barack Obama, is once again making headlines for his unwavering support of President Donald Trump. In a recent social media post, Malik declared his allegiance to the Republican party and his intention to vote for Trump in the upcoming election.
This is not the first time Malik has publicly endorsed Trump. In 2016, he endorsed Trump and even attended his inauguration as a guest. Malik has also been known to fuel Trump’s racist “birtherism” claims by posting a fake birth certificate online that he claimed belonged to Barack Obama.
Malik’s conservative views come as a surprise to many, especially considering his brother’s recent viral speech at the Democratic National Convention where Barack Obama endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris as the Democratic presidential nominee and criticized Trump’s leadership.
Despite his controversial political views, Malik’s own political aspirations in Kenya were inspired by his brother’s presidency. Over a decade ago, Malik ran unsuccessfully as an independent candidate for mayor in the Kenyan village of Kogelo.
Malik’s continued support for Trump and his outspoken criticism of his brother’s political party have sparked debate and controversy online. As the election draws near, Malik’s public endorsement of Trump is sure to continue making waves in the political sphere.
