Cam’ron Blames JAY-Z for Lil Wayne Super Bowl Snub
Cam’ron is not holding back when it comes to expressing his disappointment over Lil Wayne being passed over as the headliner for next year’s Super Bowl halftime show in New Orleans. The Harlem rapper believes JAY-Z is the one to blame for this decision.
During his sports talk show It Is What It Is, Cam’ron shared his thoughts on the NFL’s choice to have Kendrick Lamar perform at Super Bowl LIX instead of Lil Wayne. He praised Kendrick Lamar as a top artist of this generation but expressed his frustration over the snub.
“It’s in New Orleans and you don’t get Lil Wayne? That’s what we doing? It’s no reason why Lil Wayne should not be performing at the Super Bowl,” Cam’ron stated.
He then pointed the finger at JAY-Z, who has been involved in organizing the Super Bowl halftime show since 2020. Cam’ron suggested that Lil Wayne’s past issues with someone connected to the organization may have played a role in the decision.
Despite Cam’ron’s strong opinions, his co-host Ma$e supported Kendrick Lamar’s selection for the halftime show. The two rappers also referenced Lil Wayne and JAY-Z’s past rivalry, which has since evolved into a mutual respect.
While Lil Wayne has yet to comment on the matter, his longtime engineer Fabian Marasciullo expressed his disappointment on social media, hinting at a desire to take control of their own decisions in the future.
Fans will have to wait and see how this situation unfolds as the Super Bowl approaches, but one thing is clear – Cam’ron is not happy with the current lineup and is determined to see Lil Wayne on that stage in New Orleans.
