Amplified Presented by EY: A Concert Kick-Off to End Hunger with The Roots and Special Guests

WhyHunger, a non-profit organization dedicated to ending world hunger, is gearing up for its 39th annual Hungerthon fundraising campaign with an electrifying concert event called Amplified Presented by EY. The concert, set to take place at New York’s Irving Plaza on Tuesday, October 15, will feature a lineup of talented artists spanning various genres including funk, blues, hip hop, and soul.

Grammy Award-winning band The Roots, known for their work as the house band on The Tonight Show, will headline the event. They will be joined by guitar prodigy Grace Bowers and her band The Hodge Podge, as well as other special guests yet to be announced.

Founded in 1975 by singer/songwriter Harry Chapin and radio DJ Bill Ayers, WhyHunger has a long history of using music to raise awareness and funds for their cause. Last year’s Amplified concert was hailed as a “dynamic showcase of sound” and a “lively and soulful dance party” by Relix magazine.

The Roots expressed their support for WhyHunger’s mission, stating, “It’s hard to think of a more worthy goal than helping people worldwide to access food. We’re honored to join WhyHunger for a great night of music and proud to support the work they do โ€“ making the world a better place.”

Tickets for the event can be purchased online, with all funds raised going directly towards WhyHunger’s efforts to end hunger and ensure access to nutritious food for all. For more information on Amplified and WhyHunger’s work, visit WhyHunger.org/Amplified.
