Colman Domingo in Talks to Join Steven Spielberg’s Next Project
Colman Domingo, known for his role in “Rustin,” is reportedly in early talks to join Steven Spielberg’s upcoming project. The film, based on an original story by Spielberg and written by David Koepp, already boasts a star-studded cast including Colin Firth, Emily Blunt, and Eve Hewson.
While details about the film remain under wraps, Deadline Hollywood was the first to report Domingo’s potential involvement. The project, set to be produced by Spielberg’s Amblin and Universal, is scheduled for a May 15, 2026 release, hinting at its potential to be a summer blockbuster.
Described as being in the “summer tentpole zone” that Spielberg is known for, the film could follow in the footsteps of iconic blockbusters like “Jaws” and “Raiders of the Lost Ark.” With Koepp’s track record of writing major summer hits, including “Spider-Man” and “Jurassic Park,” audiences can expect an exciting and entertaining film.
Although Domingo has not worked directly with Spielberg before, his previous collaboration on the musical adaptation of “The Color Purple,” which Spielberg produced, may have influenced the director’s decision to consider him for the new project.
With big things on the horizon for both Domingo and Spielberg, fans can look forward to an exciting and star-studded film that promises to be a must-see in 2026.
