Investigation Underway in Death of Black Woman Found in Wooded Area after Uber Ride
The Indianapolis community is reeling after the tragic death of 30-year-old Chanti Dixon, whose body was found in a wooded area with gunshot wounds to the head. The last person she was seen with was her Uber driver, Francisco Valadez, who has now been charged with her murder.
According to police reports, Dixon was on her way home from work in the early hours of the morning when she was picked up by Valadez. Court documents reveal that Valadez confessed to attempting to have sex with Dixon in the back of his car, and when she refused, he became enraged and shot her before hiding her body behind a concrete barrier.
Neighbors described Dixon as a good woman who kept to herself and was devoted to her children and her dog. The shocking and senseless nature of her death has left the community in mourning.
In response to the incident, Uber has stated that Valadez has been banned from the rideshare app and they are conducting a thorough investigation into the matter. The company emphasized their commitment to providing a safe and positive experience for all users and expressed deep sadness over the tragedy.
As the investigation into Dixon’s death continues, the community is left grappling with the loss of a beloved member and seeking justice for her untimely passing.
