MF DOOM Soundtracks Trailer for New Fortnite Marvel Crossover Game Mode “Day of Doom”

MF DOOM’s legacy continues to thrive as his music is featured in the trailer for Fortnite’s new Marvel-themed game mode, Day of Doom. The limited-time mode pits two 16-player teams against each other, with one team playing as Doctor Doom’s Henchmen and the other as Allies of the Avengers.

Players on the Henchmen team must collect six Arcane Artefacts, while the Avengers team must stop them. If the Henchmen succeed, they must then eliminate the remaining heroes to win the game. The game mode incorporates items like Iron Man’s Combat Kit and the Stark Industries Energy Rifle.

The use of MF DOOM’s music in the trailer is fitting, as the late rapper drew inspiration from the Marvel supervillain for his post-KMD persona. The collaboration between MF DOOM and Jake One on “Trap Door” from the album White Van Music was chosen to promote the update.

Day of Doom launched on September 17 and will be available to play until October 4. In other news, a new biography on MF DOOM titled The Chronicles of DOOM is set to be released on October 29. The book will delve into the life and career of the enigmatic rapper, recounting his rise, fall, redemption, and untimely demise.

Additionally, DOOM and Madlib’s album Madvillainy was recently certified gold by the RIAA, marking a significant milestone for the cult-classic project. Stones Throw Records founder Peanut Butter Wolf shared some behind-the-scenes details about the making of the album, highlighting the album’s unique recording process and promotion efforts.
