Steve Stoute Reveals Drake Turned Down Super Bowl Twice, Could Have Brought Lil Wayne On Stage

In a recent podcast appearance, Steve Stoute revealed that Drake has turned down the opportunity to perform at the Super Bowl not once, but twice. Stoute defended his friend JAY-Z, who has faced criticism for choosing Kendrick Lamar to perform at halftime of Super Bowl LIX instead of Lil Wayne, who hails from New Orleans where the game will take place.

Stoute emphasized that JAY-Z has provided a platform for Black artists, including Hip Hop and R&B artists, to showcase their talent on the Super Bowl stage. He suggested that if Drake had accepted the offer to perform, he could have brought out Lil Wayne and even Nicki Minaj during his set.

According to Stoute, Drake’s decision to decline the Super Bowl offer was his own, and no one should question his choice. However, Stoute hinted that Drake’s refusal may have disappointed some, including Nicki Minaj, who may have expected to join him on stage.

Elliott Wilson, Editorial Director of Hip Hop Journalism at UPROXX Studios, corroborated Stoute’s claims, stating that Drake had turned down the Super Bowl twice since JAY-Z’s NFL partnership. Wilson highlighted the rivalry between Drake and JAY-Z but acknowledged that JAY-Z had wanted Drake to perform at the Super Bowl.

Overall, Stoute’s revelation adds another layer to the ongoing discussion surrounding the Super Bowl halftime show lineup and the artists who have declined the opportunity to perform at the prestigious event.
