Grambling State Football Roars Back to Dominance with Convincing Win

In a statement win that harkened back to the glory days of Grambling State football, first-year head coach Mickey Joseph’s Tigers made a resounding statement on Saturday night. Facing off against SWAC championship contenders Jackson State, Grambling State forced five turnovers and secured a convincing 41-20 victory in front of a record-breaking crowd at Eddie Robinson Stadium.

Joseph, who had vowed to restore fear and dominance to the program, saw his vision come to life as the Tigers’ defense led the way with a stellar performance. Despite a modest offensive output of 271 total yards, Grambling State’s defense shined, forcing five turnovers, including two that resulted in defensive touchdowns.

The win not only showcased the team’s newfound toughness and discipline under Joseph but also signaled a turning point for a program that had faced struggles in recent years. With a record of 3-1, Grambling State is now firmly back on the map as a force to be reckoned with in the SWAC.

Quarterback Myles Crawley and running back Ke’travion Hargrove led the offense, while defensive standouts Caleb Lee-Collins and Patrick Marshall made game-changing plays to secure the victory. The game also marked a milestone for the program, with a record-breaking crowd of 19,085 fans in attendance – the largest for a home game in nearly two decades.

As Joseph declared after the win, the Tigers are on a mission to bring back the dominance and respect that Grambling State football is known for. With this impressive victory, it seems that the Tigers are well on their way to reclaiming their status as a powerhouse in college football.
