Nicki Minaj Claims She Was ‘Scammed’ Out Of $1 Million – Rapper Calls Out JAY-Z and Steve Stoute
Nicki Minaj is not one to hold back when it comes to expressing her frustrations, especially when it involves money and loyalty in the music industry. The rapper recently took to social media to call out JAY-Z for what she perceived as unfair treatment in regards to her Tidal deal and the Super Bowl Halftime Show headliner selection.
In a series of tweets, Nicki Minaj claimed that she was “scammed” out of $1 million by JAY-Z and the Tidal team. She alleged that she was offered a million dollars to stay silent about the deal after Tidal was sold, but she refused the hush money. According to Minaj, she was promised a larger payday well before the streaming platform was sold in 2021.
Former Interscope CEO Steve Stoute tried to shed light on the situation during a podcast appearance, explaining that Minaj failed to sign the necessary paperwork to secure the money she felt she was owed. Stoute defended JAY-Z’s role in the Tidal deal and criticized Minaj for her behavior, calling it “wrong.”
Despite the backlash and criticism she has faced, Nicki Minaj remains steadfast in her claims and continues to speak out against JAY-Z and those she feels have wronged her. As she navigates these turbulent waters in the music industry, it is clear that Minaj is not afraid to stand up for what she believes is right, even if it means going against some of the biggest names in the business.
