Security Lapse: Armed Man Approaches Barack Obama’s Vehicle Outside Hollywood Restaurant

Former President Barack Obama was reportedly placed in harm’s way last week due to a security lapse by the Secret Service. The incident occurred outside a popular Hollywood restaurant, Mother Wolf, where Obama was sitting in the back seat of his SUV on Saturday evening.

According to TMZ, an armed man approached Obama’s vehicle around 7:30 p.m., claiming to be a security guard for a bar mitzvah taking place on the second floor of the establishment. The man, who requested to remain anonymous, stated that he was unaware of Obama’s presence until he saw him using a laptop inside the SUV.

In a panic, the guard walked away from the vehicle and later surrendered his credentials and license to carry a concealed weapon to the Secret Service. He noted that there was no security personnel covering the backside of the SUV or the stairwell leading to the restaurant.

Obama’s daughters, Malia and Sasha, joined him for dinner at Mother Wolf later that night. The security guard described the incident as a “definite security lapse” on the part of the Secret Service.

This incident comes at a time when the Secret Service has faced criticism for two separate assassination attempts on former President Donald Trump. The agency’s handling of security for high-profile individuals is now under increased scrutiny following this latest incident involving Obama.
