G Herbo Sued for Allegedly Stiffing Law Firm in 2020 Civil Case for $237k

G Herbo, the Chicago rapper, is facing a new legal battle as he is being sued by the law firm Prince Lobel Tye for allegedly not paying his legal fees in his 2020 wire fraud case. The firm claims that G Herbo, whose real name is Mr. Wright, owes them a total of $237,582.67 for the legal work and services they provided on his behalf, including interest.

The lawsuit states that G Herbo stopped making payments two weeks before his sentencing in the case, with the last payment being made on December 29, 2023. In addition to the amount owed, the law firm is seeking 1.2 percent interest per month for each month G has been delinquent.

In January, G Herbo was sentenced to three years’ probation following a plea deal for his involvement in a scheme to use stolen identities to fund extravagant expenses such as private jets, a Jamaican villa, and designer puppies. Despite prosecutors’ requests for jail time, the judge ultimately decided on probation, restitution, forfeiture, and a fine for the rapper.

The federal fraud case alleged that G Herbo and his associates used stolen credit card information and personal identities to charge over a million dollars’ worth of exotic services over a four-year period. The scheme included trips on private jets, limousine rides, exotic car rentals, and even designer puppies purchased with stolen identities.

G Herbo pleaded guilty to wire fraud charges in 2023 and expressed confidence that his associates would not betray him. The ongoing legal battle with the law firm adds another layer of complexity to the rapper’s legal troubles.
