    Renowned rapper and actor Chino XL’s family has confirmed the heartbreaking news of his passing due to suicide. The 50-year-old artist’s family released a statement during Suicide Awareness Month, hoping to shed light on mental health struggles and encourage others to seek help.

    The Ventura County Medical Examiner’s office officially listed Chino’s cause of death as asphyxia resulting from ligature hanging. Chino, born Derek Keith Barbosa, passed away on July 28, leaving behind his children, stepson, grandchildren, mother, and former partner.

    In a joint statement, Chino’s daughters described him as a “Girl Dad” who provided strength, straightforwardness, and realism. They expressed peace in knowing their father is at peace and requested privacy as they plan a memorial in his honor.
