Timberland Honors The Notorious B.I.G. with Christopher Wallace Collection
The Notorious B.I.G., also known as Christopher Wallace, made a legendary appearance at the 92.3 The Beat Summer Jam on August 13, 1995, at the Irvine Meadows Amphitheatre in Irvine, California. The iconic rapper, known for hits like “One More Chance,” was a pioneer in 1990s hip-hop culture and was rarely seen without his signature Timberland boots.
In celebration of the 30th anniversary of Biggie’s debut album “Ready to Die,” Timberland has released the Christopher Wallace Collection. This special collection features a reimagined version of Timberland’s classic six-inch boot, with details paying homage to the late rapper. The boot includes an image of a baby on the tongue, a reference to the album’s iconic cover art, as well as a gold-toned tag with a crown design and Biggie’s name etched into the heel of the sole.
Chris Dixon, Senior Footwear Designer at Timberland, expressed his honor in designing the Christopher Wallace Collection, stating that he aimed to capture the essence of the iconic album cover with a minimalist approach. In addition to releasing the special boot, Timberland has pledged to donate to The Christopher Wallace Memorial Foundation, a non-profit organization founded by Biggie’s mother, Voletta Wallace, to support literacy programs for children and families.
The Christopher Wallace Collection is available in wheat and black colorways in men’s and kid’s sizes online and at select Foot Locker, Champs Sports, and Kids Foot Locker stores. This collection is a fitting tribute to one of the most influential rappers in the game, ensuring that Biggie’s legacy lives on through his music and now, his iconic footwear.
