Cardi B Provides Update on Butt Injection Reversals and Changing Trends in Plastic Surgery
Cardi B is making headlines once again, this time for her decision to reverse her butt injections. The rapper and mom of three recently shared on Instagram Live that she underwent surgery earlier this year to remove some of her butt injections and address fibrosis issues.
This isn’t the first time Cardi has opened up about her plastic surgery journey. In December 2022, she revealed that she had 95 percent of previously injected biopolymers removed from her buttocks. Biopolymers are silicone shots that Cardi had gotten in a basement procedure back in 2014 for $800.
But Cardi B is not alone in her decision to reverse her plastic surgery. Other well-known women, such as Blac Chyna, Ayesha Curry, and SZA, have also recently spoken out about their removals and procedure reversals. Plastic surgeons are noticing a shift in what patients desire, with a move towards a more natural and athletic physique, dubbed the “Ballet Body” aesthetic.
According to the American Society of Plastic Surgery, there has been a significant increase in procedures aimed at achieving a thinner look, with liposuction remaining the most in-demand procedure. Breast augmentation and lifts have also seen increases, while breast implant removals have risen by nine percent.
These trends in body aesthetics come at a time when the use of GLP-1 drugs for weight loss, such as Ozempic and Wegovy, is on the rise. Experts believe that the popularity of these drugs is driving the shift in trends, with some expressing concerns about the societal pressure to conform to certain body standards.
As Cardi B and other celebrities continue to be open about their plastic surgery journeys, the conversation around body image and beauty standards is evolving. The decision to reverse plastic surgery procedures is a personal one, and it’s clear that the landscape of beauty ideals is constantly changing.
