With Halloween just around the corner, singer and actress Janelle Monáe has been officially crowned the “HalloQueen” of AMC’s annual “FearFest.” In a trailer released on Monday, Monáe, dressed in her signature tuxedo style, introduces this year’s lineup of horror classics, including “Halloween,” “Child’s Play,” “Carrie,” “The Shining,” and more, totaling over 700 hours of content.

Throughout the month-long event, Monáe will be sharing her love of the genre, favorite thrillers, and showcasing her horror score knowledge and musical prowess. Viewers can also stream a selection of films curated by Monáe on AMC+, titled “Janelle Monae’s ‘FearFest’ Faves,” including titles like “An American Werewolf in London,” “Candyman,” “The Fly,” and more.

Monáe expressed her excitement for the hosting gig, stating that Halloween and horror are deeply rooted in who she is. From growing up watching horror movies with her cousins to slaying Halloween after Halloween with showstopping costumes, Monáe’s passion for the spooky season is evident.

In an interview with People magazine, Monáe revealed that one of her favorite characters to embody growing up was Chucky from “Child’s Play.” She has since celebrated Halloween as various characters, including Diva Plavalaguna from “The Fifth Element,” the Grinch, and even Chucky himself.

AMC’s “FearFest” is currently running until Oct. 31, offering viewers a month-long bash of their favorite fears. Monáe promises that viewers are in for a terrifying ride and encourages everyone to gather their friends and get ready for a spooky experience.
