Zion Williamson Walks Out of Interview Over Lack of Kendrick Lamar Songs in Playlist
Zion Williamson, the star forward for the New Orleans Pelicans, recently made headlines during the team’s Media Day when he was grilled by a reporter over his lack of Kendrick Lamar songs in his playlist. The reporter questioned why Zion didn’t have any of K.dot’s tracks, specifically his Drake disses “Euphoria” and “Not Like Us,” in his off-season workout playlist.
Zion, taken aback by the question, initially laughed it off before expressing his disbelief. “I hear you but you’re entitled to your opinion. I’m entitled to mine. But saying that? Come on. It’s Kendrick Lamar. I really gotta sit up here and talk about how good of an artist he is?” Zion responded before abruptly getting up and walking out of the interview.
Despite not having Kendrick Lamar in his playlist, Zion revealed that one artist he always has in rotation is the late Biggie Smalls. He credited B.I.G.’s debut album, Ready To Die, for helping him cope with the challenges he has faced over the years.
The 22-year-old basketball phenom, who was drafted as the No. 1 pick by the Pelicans, has had his fair share of setbacks, including a torn meniscus in his rookie season. However, Zion made a triumphant return and was named to the NBA All-Rookie First Team.
Zion’s love for music and its impact on his life and career continues to be a topic of interest among fans and reporters alike.
