Childish Gambino Cancels New World Tour Due to Health Concerns

After postponing some dates of his New World Tour last month, Childish Gambino has officially announced the cancellation of the entire tour. The multi-talented artist made the announcement on X, citing the need to focus on his physical health.

Following a show in New Orleans on September 7, Gambino revealed that he had to seek medical attention in Houston for an ailment that prevented him from performing. After further tests, it was determined that he needed surgery and time to heal, leading to the difficult decision to cancel the remaining North American, UK, and European tour dates.

The tour, which kicked off on August 11, faced challenges early on with cancellations due to production issues and illness. Despite these setbacks, Gambino surprised fans at the Brooklyn stop with a special appearance from Shaboozey, performing a remix of his track “Dadvocate.”

Gambino’s New World Tour was known for its cutting-edge technology, setting a high standard for live performances. Fans who purchased tickets for the canceled shows will be refunded at the point of purchase.

As Gambino focuses on his recovery, he expressed gratitude for the love, privacy, and support from his fans. While the tour may be canceled, his dedication to bringing a memorable show to his fans remains unwavering.
