Lawsuit Filed Against Lil Durk and Record Labels Over FBG Duck Shooting
The Dinizulu Law Group has taken a bold step in seeking justice for the tragic death of Chicago rapper FBG Duck by filing a civil lawsuit against rapper Lil Durk, his record label OTF, and several music companies. The lawsuit, announced by Attorney Yao Dinizulu, accuses the defendants of wrongful death, civil conspiracy, negligence, and failure to render aid in the fatal shooting of FBG Duck on August 4, 2020.
The lawsuit alleges that the defendants, including Alamo Records, Sony Music Entertainment Inc., Universal Music Group Recordings Inc., and Empire Distribution Inc., profited from promoting violent rivalries between OTF and FBG Duck through music and social media. It claims that Lil Durk and OTF members orchestrated a campaign of intimidation and violence against FBG Duck, leading to his tragic death and the injuries of bystanders Davon Brinson and Cashae Williams.
Furthermore, the lawsuit accuses the City of Chicago, police, and emergency services of failing to promptly aid FBG Duck after the shooting, as well as Dolce & Gabbana and its security firms for negligence in providing adequate safety measures.
This legal action comes after the conviction of six gang members in January for their involvement in FBG Duck’s death, linking the murder to a gang war fueled by social media and rap music. The lawsuit seeks justice for FBG Duck, accountability for the defendants, and compensation for the victims and their families.
