50 Cent Sues Jeweler for Unauthorized Use of Likeness and Trademark Infringement

Hip-hop mogul 50 Cent is not one to mess with when it comes to his money and his image. The artist, born Curtis Jackson, recently filed a lawsuit against jeweler Maksud Trax Agadjani, also known as TraxNYC, for trademark infringement and violating his right of publicity.

The lawsuit comes after TraxNYC was seen on social media promoting chains that bear a striking resemblance to a chain owned by 50 Cent. Jackson claims that these posts are misleading consumers into thinking that he is affiliated with these “knock-off” pieces.

In a statement to The Wrap, the lawsuit alleges that TraxNYC “willfully and knowingly created imitations of an original necklace designed exclusively for Jackson” and used his name and image without authorization for commercial gain.

Before filing the lawsuit, 50 Cent warned the jeweler on social media, stating, “This was a bad idea. You will regret doing this I promise.” Since then, he has continued to call out TraxNYC on Instagram, demanding that he stop selling the chains.

As the situation unfolds, 50 Cent shows no signs of backing down, making it clear that he will not tolerate anyone using his likeness for their own gain. With his reputation as a fierce and relentless businessman, it’s safe to say that TraxNYC may have underestimated the power of 50 Cent’s legal team.
