Dr. Dre Faces $10 Million Lawsuit from Former Psychotherapist: Harassment, Threats, and Homophobic Rhetoric Alleged

Dr. Dre is facing a $10 million lawsuit from his former psychotherapist, Dr. Charles Sophy, who alleges harassment, threats, and homophobic rhetoric. The lawsuit, filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court, claims that Dre engaged in a “systematic and malicious” campaign against Dr. Sophy, stemming from unresolved frustrations related to mediation during Dre’s divorce in 2021.

According to the complaint, Dre sent threatening messages to Sophy, demanding he “pay for” a perceived wrongdoing and pressured him to disclose confidential information from another therapy session. The harassment escalated to the point where men impersonating FBI agents showed up at Sophy’s home, leaving him in constant fear.

Dre’s legal team denies these allegations and counters with their own, claiming that Sophy attempted to coerce Dre’s children into turning against him during the divorce. They filed a complaint against Sophy with the Osteopathic Medical Board of California for “dereliction of duties and incredible incompetence.”

Dr. Sophy denies Dre’s accusations and insists he tried to avoid legal action in hopes of resolving the matter. The lawsuit asserts that there is no truth behind Dre’s accusations and that he tried to let the threats go, but Dre would not let go.

The question remains: does Dr. Sophy have a case or not? Stay tuned as this legal battle unfolds in the entertainment world.
