Serena Williams Opens Up About Health Crisis: Removes Cyst on Neck
Serena Williams, the legendary tennis champion, recently shared a personal health update with her fans on TikTok. In a video posted on Tuesday, Williams revealed that she had been dealing with a cyst on her neck, which had grown to the size of a grapefruit.
Despite initial concerns, all tests came back negative, but doctors advised Williams to have the cyst removed to prevent any potential complications. In the video, Williams can be seen in a hospital gown, bravely preparing for the procedure.
“I am feeling so grateful and fortunate everything worked out, and most of all, I’m healthy,” Williams wrote in the caption of the video. She explained that she had a branchial cyst, a small fluid-filled sac that can appear as a lump on the side of the neck.
After the successful removal of the cyst, Williams took some time to focus on her recovery. However, being a dedicated mom, she still found time to take her daughter, Olympia, to an American Girl doll store, despite her own health concerns.
In a follow-up post, Williams expressed disappointment at missing out on events like the Glamour Women of the Year awards and Rafael Nadal’s retirement announcement, but emphasized that her health always comes first.
As she continues to recover, fans can expect to see more updates from Williams, who recently shared new photos of her one-year-old daughter, Adira, on social media. Despite facing a health crisis, Williams remains resilient and focused on her journey to healing.
