Daniel Richardson Earns Starting QB Spot at FAMU

Daniel Richardson, a transfer quarterback from FBS programs Central Michigan and Florida Atlantic, faced an uphill battle to earn the starting position at Florida A&M. Despite the Rattlers’ success last season, Richardson was not promised anything and had to compete against redshirt junior Junior Muratovic for the starting spot.

After a close battle during fall camp, first-year head coach James Colzie finally named Richardson as the starter just five days before the season opener against Norfolk State in the MEAC/SWAC Challenge. Richardson, who previously threw for over 5,000 yards and 43 touchdowns at Central Michigan, is now focused on continuing Florida A&M’s winning tradition.

With a successful track record in quarterback competitions, Richardson is eager to lead the Rattlers to victory, starting with a nationally televised primetime game at Atlanta’s Center Parc Stadium. Despite the pressure and high expectations, Richardson remains confident and ready to showcase his skills on the field.

As Richardson prepares to take the field as QB1 for Florida A&M, fans and teammates alike are excited to see what he can bring to the team. With determination and a strong work ethic, Richardson is poised to make a significant impact and help the Rattlers achieve success in the upcoming season.
