O.J. Simpson’s Ashes Turned into Jewelry for His Children, Lawyer Reveals

The controversial legacy of O.J. Simpson continues to make headlines, even after his passing in April at the age of 76. According to his longtime lawyer, Malcolm LaVergne, Simpson’s ashes have been turned into jewelry and distributed among his four adult children.

TMZ reported that Arnelle, Sydney, Jason, and Justin Simpson all agreed to have their father’s ashes transformed into various pieces of jewelry. LaVergne, who had to give his consent for the process to take place, revealed that he did not receive any of the jewelry himself.

The cost of this unique memorialization was $4,243.06, covering the price of the jewelry, cremation, and death certificates. However, LaVergne is currently focused on settling Simpson’s substantial debt of nearly $270,000 as the executor of his estate.

One major financial hurdle LaVergne is facing is the $30 million wrongful death lawsuit brought by the family of Ron Goldman, who was killed alongside Simpson’s ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, in 1994. Despite being acquitted in the criminal trial, Simpson was found liable in the civil case in 1997.

Fred Goldman, Ron’s father, is now seeking to collect the money owed to his family in Nevada, where Simpson’s assets are located. LaVergne has stated that he will address this claim in accordance with Nevada law, as the legal battles surrounding O.J. Simpson’s life and legacy continue to unfold.
